Description
This is a very nice largish oil painting, signed D.Greenshields.It is titled in the frame as Collumpton Devon.I have researched this scene and believe the title is wrong and the painting is of Hawchurch a small village in Devon.I also believe the painting is by Major David Greenshields a Royal Artillery officer who at the relevant time lived in Hawchurch.Size 3 Ft x 26 ins inc frame.Frame is a good period example.
